On July 13, 2006, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan approved the proposed Settlement Agreement.  The proposed Settlement Agreement allows for certain modifications, which will be implemented August 1, 2006, to the health care benefits Ford provides to its retired hourly employees, surviving spouses and their eligible dependents.

Example: If you are currently covered by BCBS National PPO and you want to remain covered by BCBS National PPO, you will call the toll free number and enroll in the BCBS National PPO.  If you are currently covered under PacifiCare and you want to continue with PacifiCare then you will need to call this number and enroll in PacifiCare. If you do not call you will be defaulted to the "Catastrophic Coverage" Plan.

To enroll, you will need to contact the Hourly Healthcare Telephone Enrollment System at 1-800-524-1234 and follow the prompts to complete the authorization process. Please note, deductions will begin August 1, 2006 for those that have enrolled. ($15 Single, $30 Family)

*Protected Retirees** - are not required to pay monthly contributions for Company-provided health care coverage. Protected retirees and surviving spouses receive an annual Ford pension benefit of $8,000 or less (excluding lump sum payments and Medicare Part B reimbursement) and have a pension benefit rate of $33.33, or less, per month/per year of credited service.

**The designation of "Protected" may be re-determined for a retiree or surviving spouse as a result of benefit increases, etc.  At the time of re-determination, the retiree may change from "Protected" to "General" (non-protected) or "General" to "Protected" status.
